台北時間六月19日，凌晨一點，
就當巴西跟澳洲在德國2006年世界盃以0比0結束上半場，接著打下半場時，
王建民踏上了美國華盛頓國民隊主場的投手丘。
這場比賽我沒有看，well, I thought he'll do just fine, like most of his games.
但只可惜在投了八局失一分，已經投了106球的他，
在第九局被打者敲了一支令洋基球迷，也令全台灣球迷心碎的再見全壘打。
看著 ptt 版上的幹文，我心裡想著，
這就是比賽呀，沒有道理一直贏的，王並不是金剛不壞之身呀，
難過應該，大家不需要那麼激動呀～
但看了王走回休息區，用力的摔手套那一剎那，他難得的表現出他的情緒，
我也懂得為什麼大家那麼心痛那麼激動了。
運動競技場上，有贏的一方，就永遠都會有輸的一方。
只可惜今天輸的是王。

"I thought he was very courageous," Joe Torre said.
"It's too bad he came out on the short end. He saved our life,
and I'm sorry we couldn't help him win this ballgame ... This kid pitched
his heart out, and I feel bad for him; worse than I do for us." [Torre]
「我認為他非常的勇敢」John Torre 說著，
「只可惜最後出來的結果是這樣，他救了大家一命（牛棚已暴）。
我很抱歉我們沒有辦法幫他贏球，這孩子已盡力了，
我為他感到難過，比為我們輸球還難過。」
"I feel bad," said Wang, who threw his glove into the dugout
as he walked off the field, showing a rare burst of emotion.
"I lost the game." [Wang]
「我很難過」王說，他在離開球場時將手套摔進休息區，
表現出難得一見的情緒反應。
「 我輸了比賽。」
"He was good all day, keeping the ball down and using his sinker,"
Zimmerman said. "He left one up [and]I caught it good enough
to get it out. It felt good. I knew I got it good enough once I hit it."
「他整場都投得很好，將球壓得低，又善用他的伸卡球」Zimmerman 說著，
「他剛好投出了一顆偏高的球，而我又剛好咬中讓他飛出去。
感覺很棒，我咬到的那瞬間就知道。」
